The vines grow in typical Vermont Tunbridge soil – sandy loam over a bedrock of schist. During the summer, canopy management of tying, training, shoot thinning and disease management are key to allow the grapes to reach their full potential. Our cold climate cultivars consist of Marquette, Frontenac, Frontenac Gris, Petite Pearl, and La Crescent. Our wine is a field blend of Marquette, Petite Pearl and Frontenac. The whole clusters are fermented, with a portion uncrushed, for 5 weeks prior to pressing. The wine is then matured in a tank for over two years with a brief period in oak before bottling. Our product is 100% Vermont grown and produced.
